About Me

I’m Erik August Johnson — a web developer with a passion for mountain, ultra, and trail (MUT) racing.

My Work

I’ve built a career that spans startups, Fortune 500 companies, academic research labs, and solo ventures.

My Projects

Here are a few projects I’ve worked on over the years:

Just Enjoy!

My first real venture out of college - part passion project, part entrepreneurial experiment. Originally launched in 2011 as Vermont Baseball Tours, the business evolved into Just Enjoy, a digitally-powered service focused on helping people experience unforgettable moments at live events.

Replacement Google

A tongue-in-cheek reimagining of web search: intentionally useless, deliberately minimal. Built for laughs, with a surprisingly serious backend.

Flu Near You

A public health tool used to crowdsource illness reporting and track flu activity in real time. I contributed engineering support during its early iterations in academic/public-sector collaboration.

MEGACITY

A crypto trading game built for and launched at ETHDenver. I led engineering efforts across a TypeScript-based stack, with dynamic game mechanics, real-time data pipelines, and full AWS orchestration.
